Light Vehicle Trip Permit

This trip permit allows the use of certain types of unregistered vehicles in Oregon, such as passenger vehicles with a combined weight of 8,000pounds or less, light trailers, and motorcycles. Only two permits for the same vehicle can be obtained within a 12-month period. To apply for this permit, contact us.

Recreational Vehicle Permit

RVs that are unregistered, such as campers, travel trailers, or motor homes, can be used but must be less than 45 feet long. Proof of ownership is required if the RV is notregistered under the individual's name in Oregon. Permits for using the RV can only be obtained for a maximum of 10 days within a 12-month period. However, multiple shorter-term permits can be obtained as long as the total number of days does not exceed 10 days in a 12-month period. Heavy Motor Vehicle and Trailer Permit

This permit allows for the use of unregistered motor vehicles with a registration weight of over 8,000 pounds and motorized fixed-load vehicles, but it cannot be used fortow/recovery vehicles or motorhomes. Vehicles with a combined weight of over 26,000 pounds may be subject to weight-mile tax and vehicles that weigh over 80,000 pounds require an over-dimension permit.
